Consulter l'excellent site de Michelle Henry (Label européen des langues)- The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games page.

Exemple de séquence à analyser ensemble (FSTG collège). N.B.

Should social networks be opened up for under 13s? Read about the debate on the Guardian website.

Do the listening comprehension about staying connected on the elllo website.

Check your comprehension with the transcript and then do the multimedia quiz.

Task

Role A : You are a parent and you aren't in favour of under 13s using Facebook or Twitter. Although you understand why your daughter wants to sign up, you explain to another parent why you are reticent.

Role B : You are a liberal parent and you don't mind your children using social networks. You try to understand another parent who is opposed to under 13s using social networks but  you try not to bring them round to your point of view and discuss this issue.

What really concerns me is.....

I appreciate why you're worried, but....

Don't you think that....?

I hear what you're saying. It is worrying...

I don't want my daughter + V-ING

I'm not that bothered about....

Expressing opinion

I think that...

I believe...

I have to say that...

In my view...

As far as I can tell...

As I see it...

Agreeing with someone

I can't agree more.

Absolutely.

I agree.

I agree with you on that point but...

That's a good point.

That's just what I was thinking.

I was about to say just that, actually.

Disagreeing with someone

I don't agree with you.

I disagree.

I can't follow you on that point...

I'm not sure I agree with you...

To be honest with you, I think that...

I'm not so sure about that.

Negotiating

Don't you think it would be better if...

Shouldn't we consider...
