Calling all plugged-in language teachers!
Clear (devised at Michigan State University) is an amazing
website where you can find free rich internet applications for language learning: audio dropboxes, programmes for students to record asynchronously, programmes for devising interactive activities
for educational purposes (non-profit teaching blogs and Moodle), a video-recording programme with which you can use your own subtitles!
Many thanks to Eva Lacroix for introducing me to a host of new interactive teaching possibilities.

The Learn English website provides a simplified
overview of the British Education system together with vocabulary for the classroom for teachers.
For a more comprehensive description of the UK education system, visit the British Council's USA page here.
The Project Britain website (Mandy Barrow) provides accessible information about education in England and also has a Q/A page.
The History of Education in England website, designed and run by Derek Gillard, gives you access to a detailed timeline from the year 600 to the present day. Derek gets thousands of visits each day and emails from students,
teachers and researchers.
For those of you who are interested in a particular period or who would like to understand education in England today, the detailed
pages on education, period by period, should provide you with a clearer understanding of the system. Gillard's glossary will help you to decipher some of the many acronyms used in the field of education.
